Through BonafideDispatching.com, 20 people have applied to become dispatchers. 5 have registered for classes. Classes start March 23 and are planned all the way up to April. We have access to the best load board in the business. All we need are connections in the industry for business. This is a healthy sign for us. This begs the question: What defines "healthy" for contributors and key role players?
Deployable New Recruits
Our training is a four day training that breaks down the ABC's and 123's of the trucking business. The more dispatchers understand about the trucking industry the better help they can be. The common misconception is that dispatching is "all you gotta do is" kind of work. It's not beyond trucks picking uploads, there is paper work and management of truckers service hours. Truckers gotta eat. Truckers gotta sleep. Truckers have families too.
In our model of business, though our dispatchers will know the full extent of the business. They will only focus on the "all you gotta do is" portion of the business while bigger role players manage the "C2 = A2 + B2" part. This helps us give our employees a good work-life balance that keeps our employment revolving door to a minimum and the agency continues to grow.
Key Prospects
Jane Doe applied to and registered for the training in May. She brings 15 years of dispatch experience to the table with 3 different companies. It's safe to say this is her field of expertise. Her knowledge will be valued to further educate us of blind spots in this field in training and practice.
Jane Doe2 is an associate and has experience in both trucking and dispatching for Amazon. Her resources gives us access to dispatchable loads and the ability to take on new truck owners to add to our force.
John Doe is an associate with 20+ years in trucking. He helps to counsel our new recruits on what it takes to be efficient and effective dispatchers.
Deployment Day
We are looking at mid April for deployment of our first dispatchers. We will have a hand full of dispatchers at that point and we will be ready to grow. What we are looking for are fresh owner operators; people who bought their first truck with fresh authority.
